Availability and Booking Process:
- If E-Tickets are available for your journey, you can choose them as your preferred ticket delivery method during the booking process.
- Upon successful booking, you will receive an email confirmation with your E-Tickets attached.
What to Expect with E-Tickets:
- An E-Ticket features a unique QR code for ticket verification, along with essential journey details such as departure and destination stations, date, and seat reservation (where applicable).
How E-Tickets Work:
- Choose 'E-Ticket' as your Ticket Delivery method.
- Purchase your ticket(s).
- Receive an immediate confirmation email.
- Download the PDF to your smartphone and/or print a backup copy at home.
- Ensure your smartphone has sufficient battery on the day of travel.
- Scan your E-Tickets at the barrier for platform entry or during ticket inspection on board the train.
Benefits of Choosing E-Tickets:
- Convenience: Instant access to your tickets by downloading them to your smartphone.
- Skip the Queues: No need to queue at self-service ticket machines or ticket offices, especially during peak hours.
- Printing at Your Convenience: Print at home for a backup copy; share with other passengers on the same journey.
- Forwarding to Others: Easily share E-Tickets with fellow passengers for their own convenience.
Hardware and Software Requirements:
- Any smartphone with internet browsing capabilities can load and display E-Tickets.
- If you don't have a smartphone, print your tickets at home and carry the printout on the travel day.
- Printer Requirements: Any ink-jet or laser printer (color or black & white) with a resolution of 300 dpi or more, using A4 plain white paper for optimal results.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher is required for viewing and printing E-Tickets.
Note: E-Tickets cannot be printed at self-service ticket machines or ticket desks at the station.
How to use your E-Tickets?
For iOS Users (Apple Wallet):
Upon a successful booking, you will receive two emails. One of these emails contains a special feature for iOS users – the ability to add your tickets directly to your Apple Wallet.
For Android Users:
- Download and Save into Your Phone:
- E-Ticket attachments may include multiple tickets (e.g., for return trips or split tickets). Ensure you download all the tickets required for your entire journey.
- If your journey is booked for multiple passengers, the confirmation email will provide separate downloadable links for each passenger (e.g., Passenger 1, Passenger 2…).
At the Station:
- Scanning at Barriers:
- Present your E-Ticket on your phone for scanning at station barriers.
- In case you encounter a barrier without a scanner, simply show your E-Ticket to a friendly member of the station staff.
On Board the Train:
- Ticket Inspection:
- If requested to show your tickets on board the train, present your E-Tickets directly from your phone.
- Alternatively, if you prefer a printed copy to take along on your journey, you can print the tickets at home and carry those with you as well.
Additional Tips
- Multiple Passengers: Ensure you download the correct tickets for each passenger if you're travelling in a group.
- Ticket Inspection: Always have your E-Tickets ready for inspection, whether at the station barriers or on board the train.
- Printed Copy: While electronic tickets on your phone are preferred, having a printed copy can be handy, especially if required on the train.
- Charge Your Device: Ensure your mobile device is fully charged or has sufficient battery power or carry a portable charger or power bank for on-the-go charging.
By following these suggestions, you can confidently navigate your journey with E-Tickets, ensuring accessibility to your travel documents and minimising potential disruptions.
